Can i switch classes or do i need to start a new game for that?

I'm a solo player but after i've completed the game i'll dip my toes into some coop via matchmaking.

Im currently playing solo as the medic but can't help feeling i might prefer another class.

The intro is a little bit of a slog before you get to the first map and i'd rather not go through that too many times if i don't have to.

Can i roll a new character without having to restart the story at all?

you can unlock new class and switch class with same character when you craft the specific class medal...
