Empathy can be overcome with a medic or dog healing/tanking. It is very hard to deal with early in the game where you dont have alot of scrap to but items to heal instead or mods that can heal.
Tips are:
Dog healing
Medic healing in group (the best probably)
Consumables to heal
Healing grenade mod for 1500 gold in town
Mudtooth tonic that gives you .75% passive hp regen a second
None of these healing methods heal the boss
Boss will destroy segments of the arena after fixed amounts of damage, throw those stupid acid balls where you CANNOT KNOW WHERE THEY WILL FALL, and they ALWAYS land on the ramps.
If you stand too far away you get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the claw the moment it touches the platform. If you get far away you cannot roll without falling.
All that avoid the stupid acid pools that will ♥♥♥♥ you up if you even grace them.
It is truly an awful boss design. You need a perfect run AND rng in order to beat this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ piece of ♥♥♥♥.
Whomever came up with this idea and concept deserve to get shot in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ face
A "no heal" run is usually a self imposed funny challenge, not something actually fun at all when trying to get through any game themselves.
And it's even worse how it's a random mechanic, so it can be applied to things that have been designed without even the modifier in mind.
Can it be beat? Sure. Is this interesting? No.
The boss all on it's own is one of the worst because the acid pools are random, don't actually have a tell for where they'll land and make the fight an RNG fest. Adding empathy to this boss feels like no one even bothered playing it with this modifier.
What a mess.
