Stuck in the Loading Screen.

Stuck in Loading Screen. Just reads "Remnant 2 with black background." Doesn't load into menu not sure what to do. Anyone ales with this problem ?

It loaded twice before but now I'm having the same issue. No error or crash, just the logo and music.

I am having the same problem, yesterday it black screened I managed to force quit it and restart it and it fixed it and was able to play perfectly on a 4090 rog strix, but now I can't get it to load past the starting screen I either get a black screen, or it freezes on the logo and music nothing else.. I did get it to show the loading icon on the upper left but can't get that it again. It also froze there too.

I managed to get the game to work by browsing to the local files, right-clicking on the Remnant2.ext and setting it to run as an administrator.

Unfortunately this didn't allow me to continue my existing save as it now seems to be bypassing my Steam account and when opening the game it prompts me to create a new character.
On copying my save files from the folder in the %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Remnant2\Steam location to the %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Remnant2 folder I was able to view my character but am not actually able to play it with a message stating that I am "Missing DLC" on the disabled start game button.

And after some more messing around (trying to run the game without admin mode but with Win 8 compatibility, trying to run Steam with admin mode, grabbing a screenshot of my character with the missing DLC error, grabbing a Steam screenshot of the broken title screen) it seems to be working for me.
No idea how it is fixed though since the only significant thing I did was running Steam as admin but that didn't actually work until after the 2 screenshots.

Edit: for all I know it was opening Paint and pasting the Windows Alt + Print Screen screenshot of the missing DLC error that fixed it.

I managed to fix my issue, go to local directory, go to propereries, set windows 8 compatibility, loaded it up outside of steam (aka from the folder directory itself not in steam), lowered my graphics settings... close game down.. loaded it up in steam for my account, set settings all but dlss, closed, reloaded make sure it loads, turn off windows 8 compatability in folder, then turned on dlss after windows 8 compat off, been loading just fine for me now.

After experiencing this a second time I think I have now narrowed down the combination that allows me to play the game: running Steam as admin and pausing my anti-virus.
I can immediately reactivate my antivirus but it is weird that I was able to play without issue for several days and now the game is suddenly too shy to work while my antivirus is running.

Seems like you really need epic games installed if:
- You’ve previously played remnant 1 on steam
- You’ve linked your steam account to epic’s (to crossplay and stuff)

Here’s why I think so:
- I’ve installed fresh Win10 (cuz of dx12, sheesh), fresh steam and remnant 2
- Launched remnant 2 - game started, but only showed logo and played bg music, like forever...
- I’ve disconnected ethernet cable, relaunched remnant 2 - now it went pass logo screen and became playable but offline ofc, lol)
- Plugged ethernet cable back, relaunched remnant 2 - stuck again
- Installed epic games, logged in, relaunched da game - NOW it works with cable plugged in…

Those are just ma observations, it might be something else entirely

Kaspersky was the culprit for me. Running in admin mode works to get it running but you're offline and creating a separate save. Paused Kaspersky and found my original characters but lost the character I'd just put 4 hours into. If you copy the data from C:\Users\%UserName%\Saved Games\Remnant2 into the steam folder in the same location and pause AV it will run online and sync the offline saves you copied in. I lost the original characters, don't much care in this case, so it looks like one or the other unless there's a save file mod out there.

I have Kaspersky as well and I never had an issue interesting.. Thanks for the info. If I have more issues later I will check that. But I'm still fixed with how I did it.

To add to this:
Whenever I start from steam (none of the potential fixes worked) I'm met with the logo and sound without anything else.

Whenever I start the .exe directly I'm getting the "©2019 - 2023 Gunfire Games, LLC. ..." text at the bottom the same time the logo shows up, then the text vanishes and a loading animation in top left corner shows up with the game loading almost immediatley. Just without Steam detecting it being launched, so no steam overlay, probably no achievement either.

So at least the text seems to be an indicator of the game launching at all, if it doesn't show up the game probably won't launch and it definitely seems to be an issue with launching from steam. Hopefully it'll get fixed, but going for the .exe might be a solution for being able to launch the game at all at least :/

Any solutions lads? Aside the exe, can't play with friends that way.
