Not sure about the infinite respawn mobs though. I've cleared parts of a zone out and gone back (without resting of course) and they stay cleared out. Mini bosses are random, but they + hordes don't just spawn out of thin air in my experience, because I was loathing backtracking and it hasn't happened to me once.
Still only played Challenger, so I don't know if it's much different for other archetypes (Challenger can self-rez once every ten minutes/rest).
can confirm for nightmare, im on a boss and they are simply unkillable at the moment
but holy is it a thrill running/fighting from some of those bigger enemies in dungeons
Now I would say it depends on what random place your game will start after the tutorial but a couple are out right brutal and given your low gear and weapons it just isn't going to be much fun.
We changed to survivor....
I would start with survivor until you level up a little and upgrade your gear then you can go up to a more difficult level.
