Have experienced this as well, in solo and co-op, with relic charges available. Instant "you are dead." Definitely a bug that needs to be addressed, and far from the only but not trying to threadjack.
If the dog is downed, it will send to straight to game over as well.
1. The dog will not revive you or a teammate in coop unless you have at least 1 relic charge. (Not talking whether it uses it or not, its jsut having 1 relic charge is required)
2. The dog will not automatically revive your team mate in coop, you have to command him to do so.
3. The revive has a cooldown. You cannot be revived/ revive teammates back to back.
4. The dog revive only works if Handler is your primary archetype.
Played solo and coop and have not had any issues with the revive.,
The dog wont revive if he's your second archetype.
This isn't entirely correct. My wife's dog has revived me on multiple occasions when it couldn't revive her (no charges on her relic). She didn't command it to. Its a good dog.
