Power Level.
So it feels to me at least that I've been soft locked into using the same weapons and archtypes the entire game due to anything else being underpowered and not having the resources to upgrade them meaningfully. Due to the game pushing you to upgrade your weapons with the incremental powel level creep as you progress.

You're forced to level weapons up due to this but what happens when you want to try another gun? You get punished for it. They all feel terrible due to their low power level.

So am I supposed to farm with my old weapons until I can upgrade a new gun to a usable level? Just to find out I don't like the weapon?

How is anyone supposed to enjoy the end game with low level archetypes and low level weapons equipped when everything is power level 21?

I have 2 Archtypes and 1 of each weapon class all maxed. Everything else is level 1. At what point can I use them Without getting stomped?

Even on the lowest difficulty, at power level 21 a new weapon hardly does any damage. So I can't even see what weapons are fun before investing hours of resources into them... at that point why would I even want to waste time farming resources to level them?

This game is fun but has some really stupid design choices that ruin the power creep you should feel when levelling up. I honestly feel weaker now than at the start of the game.

If you want a more challenging experience you can re-roll to the next difficulty. The current difficulty shouldn't get massively more difficult purely due to this power level c rap.

Power levels should be capped on different difficulties and should scale by progress and not highest gear level.

So when I re-roll a campaign on the easiest difficulty. The first area should be power level 1 and not 21. So that I can equip all my weak s hit and have an enjoyable time.

Want the difficulty to remain or get harder? Cool, just re-roll to a higher difficulty.

+1 on this "This game is fun but has some really stupid design choices that ruin the power creep you should feel when levelling up. I honestly feel weaker now than at the start of the game."

Couldn't agree more, got my lever action to +15 and regretted it, I beat the game but...honestly I want to make a new character just to deliberately never raise past +10ish tops.

Every Single Enemy is tankier now than they were before, and deal tons of damage, plus my archetypes cap out their damage/abilities at 10, so...I'd be better off as a summoner/handler or Summoner/Engineer just maxing archetype and putting like +5 on a gun lol.

Really wish we could choose the difficulty of an adventure, with scaling resource drops or something.

Same topic was before. My advice don't upgrade your weapons and you be at 10-11 gs. You can "test" guns there. And upgrade what you like most. Same was in R1. Don't know why devs make it this way.

Main issue with power level lies in when you start leveling new archetype. Level 1 both classes at power level 21 game is just disaster. You need grind heavily to get even proper fighting chance, and bosses aren't really doable in that state.

That is correct, they forgot why remnant 1 was balanced around geting all traits but also other mechanics.
Armor set bonuses, they were always relevant regarldess of difficulty, the mutators only are relevant on maxed guns
All guns you got were 2-3 levels bellow your curent power so it was just a few upgrades to use them
Armor upgrades, allowed the player to increase survivability to the same level of guns
Geting more and more traits, while you level up most of the best traits first you did continously progress where reloading, stamina regen, gun swaping speed were small bonuses but together they gave your character a lot of utility
Economy, not using all your resorces on silly things also helped
Less puzzles and secrets, while not an obvious nerf...in remnant 2 you spend a lot of your time doing silly things....wich means you are not killing or opening chests wich means in remnant 1 you got a lot more rewards simply based on the fact you were always fighting

Yeah, plus every weapon you want to change to using is basically another multi-hour long grind just to get the scrap to make semi-useful.

It's rough honestly.

yeah they messed up that one badly, they didn't test it a whole lot for sure and I bet they will tweak it.
