Apocalypse Campaign preparation
I'm wrapping up my nightmare campaign and I die in one hit to everything. So, exactly what changes in apocalypse? If it's the same "no mistakes allowed" atmosphere, is it really going to be any harder?

In the sense that you technically have less room for error? You're getting one shot either way, but bosses have more health and so do mobs, so I suppose there's more chances for mistakes to be made is how I would look at it.

Ahh ok, but the differences are mostly just numerical? No fancy new tricks or more adds?

Bosses are harder and have mroe hp, and you know how on nightmare you die in one hit? On apocalypse, if they look at you, you die o.o

I don't think they have new moves? I could be remembering wrong though. But I don't think they did anything unusual. It's probably mostly numerical if not only.

I'm on the final boss on apoc now (Spiteful/Vicious ofc) and literally EVERYTHING is a one shot. I've made it to phase 2, but I'm thinking I will have to take the L. It requires so much perfection for so long.

Mobs are harder. Which I like. Because it punishes heavily for mistakes and the name of Abyss lives up to its name.

The game basically turns into Darks Souls. One wrong move and you're dead. Which makes it oh so satisfying when finally overcoming a boss.

Right now I'm running Archon/Medic and use medic's shield as a buffer to let me survive a single hit, is that still viable in apoc or should I just drop medic?

What kills you in 1 hit on nightmare? Even bosses allow a free hit 90% of the time.

Annihilation for sure does, at least with his melee hits and explosions. ground aoes and the like are a bit more merciful

He does not, you sure you haven't rolled one of the damage modifiers for the boss?

Yknow what I might have, but I'm away from home so I can't check right now. Might have been spiteful, I think. Could be wrong tho

Almost every 'mob' enemy is forgiving in Dark Souls, in fact I don't think New game plus in dark souls even raises enemy damage, just health so it takes longer. Granted it SHOULD be less forgiving in Remnant because you're at range unless you spec into melee. But yeah, in Dark Souls you won't typically die to one mistake unless you spam roll and get cornered and gangbanged by multiple enemies.
