I hate the Abomination
I honestly can't remember the last time I complained about difficulty or boss design in a game like this, but this boss is terrible.

It has one specific melee attack in which it just rapidly spams swipes. It appears to be effectively impossible to dodge the full combo due to a complete mismatch between dodge timing, attack timing, and iFrames. Toss on a Vicious modifier and it only takes two of those hits in the combo to kill me or any of the people I'm playing with.

Now, I understand that the goal seems to be to not let it even get that close, so this wouldn't be a problem if the area in which these attacks deal damage actually matched the animations, but I'm taking damage a metric mile away from where this boss' stubby little arms actually swing.

It's just a shame because I have otherwise loved every other boss I've fought so far. I didn't expect them all to be hits but I also didn't expect any to be this bad.

I felt same way first time beating it. On veteran I’ve managed to avoid the melee, you will learn to get distance long before it stars the melee then a couple rolls will get you away with no hits

I'm not a fan of that one either. Heck, even when everything goes right, it feels like you're just shooting a sandbag since the majority of its body is armored, and any weakpoints you expose it just rolls back up into a pipe and covers it up again.

I dislike regular abominations and the boss. That bunch of melee attacks and slams is just terrible. That said, the most likely way to survive it or get away from it's attack string is to dodge into it as it gets the first attack in. If done right, you come out the other side and it never gets turned enough to hit with more. If not perfect but you don't get hit, then you might have to dodge again but you should get the chance.

Either way you still have to watch out for those slams because they still hit way too much area even when it has been streaking away from you on the melee attacks.

if you put a firestorm on him it'll trap him for the most part due to that mods "pull" effect being stronger than his movement speed.

Yea if you don't have light dodge or increase dodge range its extremely hard to get away from that 7 hit combo. He is pretty annoying as a mob in general as well. He isn't really that hard though. Basically you just have to run away from him before he starts attacking lol. Not a fun fight really.

Very first boss I had was the Abomination with Regeneration. I started Challenger, so I have to be semi-close to maximize my damage on something that naturally heals and has armor i have to keep knocking off.

Was not a very fun first boss to start on, but I did get through after several tries due to that Melee combo; Just have to find the sweet spot to keep it from doing it.

yeah after multiple rounds of playing this is the only boss where i go: ugh

he dissapears too often after he gets below 50% that fight is just really tedious
