Fextra explicitly says 3RD world. Not alot of ppl mention that part when telling new players about the hidden archtypes.

Keep playing until you open the portal to root earth in The Labyrinth. I had to reroll my campaign, exhaust all of mudtooths stories, and then progress up until that point in the campaign again to unlock the cylinder. This also seems to be the case for other people.
It's also not a shop item. The items are given to you while you're listening to his stories.

I actually got gunslinger before I beated the 3rd world (not labyrinth), I think you need to explore a certain amount of the three worlds until Mudtooth gives you all the stories.

Beat the game and spoke with Mudtooth. He gave me an amulet and a ring and the archetype material but not at the same time. The ring and cylinder might have been together but the cylinder popped when the Steam achievement for listening to all his stories did. If you don't have the achievement, listen more or finish more of the game.

Thankfully you can skip his dialogue to speed up the process :)

A) You have to listen to all of his stories. More unlock as you beat worlds.
B) You have to have beaten the 3rd World AND the Labyrinth (which is implied, but not super clear)
C) You have to do all of the above, including listening to his stories, in Campaign mode. Adventure mode doesn't count, and you can't get any of his stuff in adventure mode either.

If you did all that and still can't get it, then I dunno.

You can't 100% trust the wiki. I've found errors on most of the pages, largely because the two people who wrote most of it seemed to understand that everything is linear and nothing is randomized.
