its just going thru the 70gb replacing the files. it isnt redownloading the whole game.
Check to see if you have enough free space.
To reduce download sizes, at the cost of having to unpack, patch and re-pack the game each time an update comes out. New World does this as well I believe.
I thought that too, but my network graph is showing activity that would indicate it is indeed downloading the entire game again.
You're going to have to uninstall and reinstall. It sucks but that's what I had to do. Worse/best part? Uninstalling and reinstalling is faster then letting it patch itself and troubleshooting why it won't finish. 30+ minutes trouble shooting versus 15 mins to download and install.
I don't know who to blame for this dumbassery: The devs or Steam.
