Map variants is a bad design
This game is such a letdown so much stuff hidden god know where I beat 3/4 game with my bro and we found literally 0 armors. I had to google one, unlocking new classes or some weapons is not better. I dont really want to play some Adventure side lvl.

i agree, sadly thats the design now, waste a lot of hours of puzzles, weird interactions and reading guides.
The problem is worse than in remnant 1 where gear was rotated and you could get unlucky but here you won't get anything except if you read guides.
The problem is that almost no dungeon has an unique boss with something good to drop, most trinkets are weak so the player has to figure out these obscure interactions to get decent gear.

The fact you instantly jump to using a guide as if you have to, just proves the game isn't for you. It's cool if it's not your thing, but a lot of people love the fact that there are so many hidden things. It's a huge staple of any souls like that's done well. The treasure hunting through secrets is amazing.

Clearly if your first thought is ''I need a guide'' then you're not the player they're aiming for.
i disagree, after finishing nerud and losomn i realised i had nothing good so i had to search for interactions wich are different for every dungeon. Like lol, how are players supposed to figure out what to do with the 5 coffins? i activated the 5 coffins before going to the dungeon and then they stop beeping. I also spent 1 hour in the dungeon with the giants claws, that's a very obscure interaction.
In Losomn, the method used to get he dreamweaver is so not very clear either and super long.
Also, imagine having to play Losomn a minimum of 3 times to figure out how to use the assassin knife to kill the red prince. It's insanity.
The only reason people know to do these things is because many people data mined the interactions, otherwise we would be geting 1 gun and 1 melee weapon per planet, maybe 4 rings and 1 necklace:)
"This game is not for you" is like saying you didn't spend 50 hours in Nerud to get all items using guides and video.
Can you imagine playing Nerud for 50 hours just to get 95% of items? because some items need the last tier of iron lol.
How much did you play nerud or losomn to get all items?

Now that's not entirely fair. Sure, the point is to hunt for the secrets, half of the fun is that "Aha!" moment when you figure out the trick to get to a secret place. But not all secrets were created equal. Some are process of elimination to find the entrance, others are noticing details that aren't present in other similar parts of the game, and a few are "you either take half a dozen screenshots of different book pages, or you look up a guide, because all the necessary info is split between notes that you can't carry with you to put together." And then there's the one where you just do a thing and wait an hour and a half in the dungeon.

I like that the game has so much variance in how it hides the secrets, but some of them are absolute "guide dang it!" moments
I agree, games does poorly on teaching you where to look for stuff. Can I jump down there and live? Can I somehow break this door?

There are also a few places you're expected to leave and come back to. The singed ring and plain ribbon, for example. You don't really have a reason to believe that leaving and coming back would prompt anything to change or even that the game would interpret that as time passing.

What are you on about? This is one of the best parts of this game. I get that it is not to your taste but it is definitely for mine and many others. This is not "bad design", it is just the kind of design you are not into and that is ok.

I have to agree. It would be different if the levels were randomly generated, but the gear tiles were 100% guaranteed to spawn every time, even if they were in different locations.

I really don't like how they hiding so many secrets in procedural generated maps, we shouldn't be expected to search every corner of a generated map.

The Fae armour looks cool

Some of you should go play FF16 instead. That ♥♥♥♥ has whatever you want. This game isn’t for you.

This one was a lot more stingy with gear and armor. The first one was easier to find stuff.

That said, if you look into the game and pay attention. People tell you ahead of time that everything changes any time you play. They and the developers mean it.

Being unprepared for a game that has procedural generation of levels and a lot of secrets and hidden loot does not mean it is bad.

Saying it is "bad design" shows that you don't get it and that this game isn't for you. Better feedback would be that it was very unreasonable to find alternate gear and that it wasn't enjoyable for you to have to look up everything.

Don't just say bad design because most people just take that comment and believe that you didn't try.

If you have some brain cells left you will be able to solve some puzzles by yourself and get some armor and classes. If you didn't find anything playing 3/4 of the game, you are rushing through the maps.

I feel like the game makers thought they were the creator from "ready player one" everything has to be an obscure Easter egg or secret passageway. Honestly that's my favorite part of souls games, but this game is taking to another level. I'm on my 2nd world and have 2 primary weapons 2 armor sets and 3 melee weapons. Seems a bit underwhelming on the loot department IMO.

It works in things like Dark Souls because the maps are smaller, static, and contained.

It doesn't work in RNG maps, so people complained about this game doing it. And it doesn't work in big open world maps, so people complained about Elden Ring doing it too,

Fromsoft actually listened to complaints and patched their game to help with the issue. Will this dev? Or will they just say "deal with it" like they did with the trait cap?

You like this , therefore it's good design? I just didnt like the changes and want to talk about this.
Remnant 1's gameloop was for finding things organically, with a friend.

Remnant 2's gameloop is an entirely multiplayer experience.
You learn something from one player, and you show 100 other players through multiplayer.

you will find much less, without being helpful in adventure mode online.

I loved Remnant as it was amazing.

Remnant 2, is just a so so looter-shooter.

Not everyone is going to data mine a specific combination of things you have to wear, to unlock Archon class.

They ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, they changed the IP's entire gameloop when it was already great, people don't like that.

Title Correction: Intended Game Design Doesn't Fit My Preferences

I have played with a lot of people who just dont explore enough, they rush through the levels killing everything and they think they are done. I try to show the hidden walls or the puzzles, but they just rush. I love those hidden walls, i sniff every wall in Yeasha and break everything in Losom.
Some things are like Dark Souls, so obscure i had to look, like the red crown, i didnt even know it existed until i saw some guy wearing it, but some things are organic, like the quilt in losom, you see the changes and you know what you have to do to complete it.
