Bandit mutator and crossbow
Looks like if you apply the bandit mutator to the crossbow, the ammo doesn't go directly to the magazine but the reserves.
"On hit, grants a x% chance to return spent ammo back into the reserves of this weapon".
WTF, why?

Probably because it interferes with the bolt recall power built into it.

It doesn't have any built in power.

You aren't talking about Sorrow?
The Eulogy mod built into it pulls bolts out of the targets you hit and puts them back in your weapon again.

No, just the crossbow long gun and the bandit mutator.

I think it's just because of the magazine size of 1. Once you fire the single shot, it's already beginning to reload. It doesn't have an overload property like Sorrow, so the ammo just gets refunded to reserves.

If the mutator say it goes to the magazine it should not change the behaviour depending on the weapon.
Nice waste of upgrade resources...

I don't think bandit works with single shot wapons since you can't break the automatic reload animation.

Basically you fire and ammo hits zero. Guns goes into reload animation and bandit triggers giving you one more ammo. Does it allow the weapon to overload and have 2 in a single shot mag ? Maybe they can change the code to check for ammo a second time before the reload animation kicks in.

bandit works on the sniper and sporebloom tho. and the disk gun too i think.
seems just the single shot guns that actually have a visible projectile it wont work for.
or anything with an actual travel time since both sporebloom and sniper are also hitscan but that leaves the disc out but im not too sure on that one.

Hmm. I think you might be onto something. I don't have Sporebloom so I tested with the 1-shot weapons I have, which happen to be bows (like Crescent Moon - not crossbows). They refund to reserves as well. It's got to be how they implemented those weapon types.
