Can you get glutton as a handler?
Will I get it if dog revives me?

I don't mind MP exclusive items when they are used to enhance MP traits, but the reward here is for playing solo as well... This sucks.

Another player has to revive you.

I'm not sure, but I do know standard relic revives will kill the player you are attempting to revive. The only way to heal without eating a guest NPC in that battle is the archtype skill heals, I know for certain the medic heals work in the fight, maybe the handler heal over time (I didn't try this), and I think one of my teammates mentioned the alchemist one does too. So I suspect the handler revive will work as the medic revive will revive players close enough to the medic

Unless you are on a hardcore character, give it a try and let us know.

If you need help getting it just add me and we can get it done :D

Don't have a world with that room now, sadly. I was just checking the different rewards and noticed that one in particular, while being only obtainable in COOP has properties that work on solo play.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

You have to have handler as the first archetype and have at least one relic charge left to get the dog to rez you. If you do and it still hasn't I've no idea why.

The trait is locked behind coop because its designed for coop. also for "solo players" there is a ring with the exact same function.

If the event rewarded the revival speed trait then I'd agree the balance swings in favour of coop but relic use speed is not exclusively or even predominantly a coop bonus, especially with R2's expanded relic roster.

A revival speed ring would also make more sense for a coop player because in total the party would have more ring slots to play with. Losing a ring slot to consumable use speed however is quite a sacrifice for a solo. At least with getting the benefit in a trait you could download the trait mod to continue developing your character.

You're rewarded it for reviving someone *else*, as I learned to my annoyance when they got the trait (that they didn't even want) and I didn't.

Man wait til you get to postulants parlor and try to unlock every door in that solo. Its good to have buddies.

When it comes to getting glutton it will only be given to the player that tries to get the other up and you will not get him up but instead devour him.

So if your dog did try to revive you, I imagine it would not go well for you and he would end up with the devourer trait after making a quick snack of you ;)

I actually did exactly that recently: I unlocked every door in the Postulan's Parlor solo. Had to do quite a bit of running back and forth though. ;)

How did you pull that off in the bottom left room with the ring in it? When I did it my buddy had to move pieces to unlock one door and then when I went through that move them again that locked the door behind me but let me in the room to grab ring, doesnt seem possible alone.

The ring also boosts relic use speed, so you do not need the trait.
The sole difference between the trait and ring is purely you either sacrifice 10 trait points or you sacrifice a ring slot.
The trait is awarded for "eating" your coop partner while under the effect of the food. (he needs to be in the dying state and you eat him as you try revive him)

Yes mate, we know how to get it. Hence the thread.

Unfortunately that is not the sole difference. A ring takes up 1 of 4 slots, you would be committing a quarter of ring slot resource to the effect. The trait can use up to 10 points of 65, you don't have to go all in but even if you did you would be committing just under a sixth of trait point resource.
Rings can provide more than simple stat bonuses, adding effects to other gameplay mechanics that can't be replicated with trait points. Some of the rings that are stat bonuses even add to more than one stat (I think there's a ring with a smaller consumable speed bonus and a sliver of health regen but it's still rather steep).
And as I said, there are mods to remove the trait cap and play a little more like FtA whereas I do not believe there's a mod to allow you to wear more than 4 rings.

If you play solo you have to sacrifice more to get the effect from a ring and wouldn't have the choice of using traits instead whereas a co-oper can choose to get the effect for less and may not even need it if they play point man with a buddy in a support role.

I don't play co-op so I don't know for myself but in reading about people trying to get the trait themselves, they have hassle in doing so because they might join/get joined with someone who just completes the encounter without trying to unlock the trait. You folks who do play co-op can say how likely that sounds but it's that kind of complication that can put off solo players.
