If you don't want to go for engineer, black cat and the fruit should also do the thing.
The final boss it helps greatly if you can make sure your weapons are maxed up upgrade wise to +10. If they aren't do some extra runs for money and materials to do so.
Use some mods and/or abilities that are good damage or will help you stay alive during the moments you feel you are likely to get hit, while also practicing the timing of the attacks so you can better dodge or avoid them.
This boss, like every boss, isn't impossible. I've beaten bosses that were even unfairly buggy in other games before this one by taking steps similar to what I listed above. It's up to you if you are willing to put in the time to improve your skills and abilities as a player to be better at a video game.
If not, youtube exists and you could simply watch someone else. Save yourself some money in the future.
If the timing of attacks is off it can make getting to orbs to take them down difficult. Esp if you have short ranged weps. Like the lightning gun which is normally good for orbs. Well if you don't get them all they kill you.
If you happen to get hit just before a transition, well too bad, yer still recovering, transition, next hit gets you, yer dead.
In Coop. If someone goes down it can be EXTREMELY tedious to get them up. Between getting hit. Transitions. Everything constantly interrupts you.
And before anyone says anything. No. I'm not changing my tank build to try and get faster ressing i have no room for it. Also the trait is broken and can't be unlocked anyways. (For me and my friends. We tried)
The point is. This boss is cheap. Frustrating. And not fun to do. Those I play with also agree. I'v done rando coops trying to help people through it and they all give up and kill the game before we finish it usually. Note I am normally last man standing trying to res them because my build is designed to survive.
Basically every attack from this boss have a very clear sound queue. You can dodge all of them with your eyes closed. After some practice i managed to beat it on veteran (first playthrough), even with garbage visuals (XeSS at performance mode) and constant drops to 25 fps (this fu**ng game really needs some optimization).
