Weird FPS drops on item pickups?
I've noticed I get specific weird FPS drops. This happens every single time I pick up a relic dust OR on a killingblow when I die. Game otherwise runs fine at my settings and with how I am running it. No hitches or snags otherwise, especially since the menu fix.

I just thought it was weird that this seems to happen every time I pick up a relic dust and every time I die. Sometimes it actually feels like the game pre-calculates my death and then hitches me into the death. Perhaps I really didn't hit the space bar in time to dodge. But either way, whether it's close or not, the hitch happens just before death the same as it does when picking up relic dust. And it feels similar to how the menu hitch felt.

Anyone else experience this, or am I stoned?

There’s weird fps drops all over the place

In some areas you can tank your fps by just standing in one area and looking at a certain wall with nothing going on

i get the fps drops when some else picks up items when playing coop. So smoke on its not just u lol
There are many games where this happens while collecting loot. It's either an anti-cheat check (in other games) or simply a check of your inventory to make sure everything is as it should be. It may also have to do with data collection. I mean the game keeps track of everything you do and everything you collect. I very rarely have these drops if I'm honest, and sometimes when I enter a new location I get a loading stutter, drop or a hang, whatever. I think this might have to do with shaders or packing textures for quicker access later. Once I've played a location, those drops are gone for me, when i come back to it ;-)

Ah! I just tried to reply and the app backed up and I lost all my text...bummer

Yes! This has been driving me crazy! This happens when I pick up wisps in Yeasha as well. But the worst is the freeze on death. I sometimes can't even see what killed me (as if the effect didn't render
...like how the lightning doesn't appear for Enigma...which is another thing). Super aggravating.

I actually upgraded my PC a bit at a time, thinking maybe it was "time" and this was my computer telling me. Upgraded my GPU from a 5700 to 6800xt. Much better frames, still bad hiccups. Then added 16GB RAM. Still issues. Decided my CPU may be bottlenecking my GPU, upgraded from my 2700x to a 5800x. Again, better frames in avg (I get around 120+ no matter what settings I use) but STILL have these weird stutters. I even upgraded my PSU (it was apparently "crap" at 80+ "white" and only 700w..there was a lot of confusing info on how much this matters).

All in all, I dropped nearly $1000 on upgrades. The game plays smoother in general. But boy does it piss me off when I get these bad frame dips. Oh, and I am playing off an M.2 NVME drive, so, that's not the issue... I really hope they fix this. I really love this game. But this crap...this damn crap. Lol

Remnant 1 did the exact same thing when playing coop. Solo was fine but as soon as playing coop and a partner picked up any loot it stuttered horribly. Tested across a few different pcs over the years but it was never fixed it.
Just came here to see if 2 fixed it , sad to see it's still a problem all these years later on their next game too.
