About relic dust

Is this some sort of time sink RNG or there's a proper way to get upgrades?

I don't mind having random upgrades, but it does feel that half of the times I just get back 5x relic dust and no upgrade ( Failed attempt? RNG got me a duplicate? ).

I saved all of them until nightmare then used half ( got something like 40% upgrades and 60% 5x dust ), and now I am stacking some back again.

Is there a better way to use them?

i got the impression, that upgrading the fragments in apocalypse gave me way more upgrades. you can try rolling an adventure on apo just for upgrading the fragments. i heard you get better upgrades on higher difficulties, but im not sure. might just have been lucky. i really dislike this slot-machine mechanic...

I already bought all the mutators, so I'm just kinda sitting on mine until I get all the classes to max level. Doesn't seem like a reason to bother until then. Even then, I probably want pure RNG to hand over most of them, and then focus on using them to finish up whatever color I'm least lucky on.

And eventually, it's just going to have scrap value. Or speculative investment, as we've got future DLCs coming.

Make a campaign mode on apocalypse. Dust used there should get you flawless mods. I have read its also tied to your total achetype level which you can see in detailed stats. Some people are saying you need to be around 80 for mythic to start showing up.

You can also get drops out of chests on apocalypse obviously. Easy way to cheese it is reroll red throne. If you have seal of the empress there are two elite chests in this area and 4 normal chests if you include the basement. You can loot them all and then reroll. You just have to kill like 4 big dudes.

I just found out the progression is +1/+2/+3/+4/Mythic ( I though I had to hit +10, lol ).
Just went all in on a fresh apo with 600 relic dusts and got 9 mythic ones.

Though it's RNG it does seem affordable.
