Override Pin gone for some reason?

So I'm in N'erud right now and am currently trying to get the segment for Sentinal's Keep. When you go up the elevator there's a strange console you have to insert the Override Pin into, but it's not in my inventory and it isn't in the tower you supposedly find it in. Is there anywhere else the Override Pin could be? If it helps, I had been exploring the area with a friend who I'm pretty sure picked it up. Does it only go to one person and then disappear if that person leaves? Until I find out another place this pin could be, I'm basically softlocked in N'erud.

I suggest you to just kill the boss without the pin and then reroll, because if you already checked the zone where the pin is supposed to be, and there's no pin, you won't probably find it anywhere else.

I can't. The override pin is what I need to be able to fight the boss.

No, the override pin just make the boss stronger ( or, at least, it seemed a stronger version of the boss to me ) .
You can still do the normal encounter by starting the panel next to the "override-pin slot".

Override pin makes it alternate

Override pin is optional. When someone in your game picks up a quest item, everyone gets that item. No idea what happen to yours but as others have said, you can start the fight without it by using the lever to the left of the pin slot.
