I was definitely super frustrated my first day trying it, i did maybe 8-12 attempts the first day, and then took a break. when I came back to it, it probably took me another 8-12 attempts. If i could just do it back to back to back, I believe I could get it down to a 1-3 attempt boss. I'm not particularly good at the game. I understand your frustration, and i completely get it seeming super stupid. but I promise once you start to learn it, and finally beat it, (hopefully like me) you'll think it's a very creative and neat boss fight.
the tip I have for you is paying attention to the sound ques. There are a LOT of different attacks, all having their own dodge windows, but the sound ques really helped me dial in the fight.
While I can understand that if you're a Melee-focused character this can be a tad frustrating, plenty of other bosses don't really allow for melee combat either.
The gunplay is first and foremost in these games, and melee is something to be used as a backup strat in most cases.
Also, GOD FORBID the game ask you to pay attention to a loud, screeching noise that accompanies a pre-set pattern to help you dodge...
Honestly, prefacing your comment with "Ya'll are toxic so I know you're going to tell me I'm doing something wrong" just shows how toxic YOU are, and that's why you're struggling... If you had just said "Hey, any tips on the final boss?" people could tell you the myriad ways to deal with specific situations and how to handle the boss.
There's people who have defeated the boss just using the standard scrap revolver upgraded to around +10 with the default dragon heart wearing the starter challenger armor. It's not like the game demands you do THAT much to beat it, you just have to be willing to try.
Also, it's easier solo because of scaling. There's absolutely no need to max out guns. I've done it with a +5 Nightweaver rifle and +6 cubegun with the help of the toxic release valve amulet to delete the lightning balls completely for literally 0 effort. As a Handler/Summoner.
Give it a few weeks and people will be doing it naked with no healing and using only the rusted repeater.
Will try to level up my weapons, traits and archetypes more. I'm playing on Veteran difficulty. A bit disappointed that there is no way to change difficulty without re-rolling the campaign.
i did it as a hunter/gunslinger and did a main dps role with the AR-47. but i would also die in 1-2 hits. but i had my duo partner do a supp tank role and he would buff up to not get pushed off of reviving me if i where to go down. gunslinger also makes ammo easy to get.
i pretty much never stopped shooting unless it was to dodge or reload and had ammo the whole fight.
I just wanted to put into the universe here that I think the final boss was done very well. Will elaborate later.
