Gunslinger archetype and accessories unlock bug

Let me start by explaining how unlocking the Gunslinger archetype is SUPPOSED to work (as far as I understand it):

1. A normal player who did not pre-order will need to beat their first proper world and go through the Labyrinth giving the 1st fragment to the big eyeball.
2. You go speak to Mud Tooth in ward 13 and exhaust all of his stories under the choice "tell me a story"
3. At that point he should give the player the "Gunslingers ring" and then tell you to come back later for more stories.
4. You would then need to beat your second proper world (NOT counting the Labyrinth).
5. You return to the Labyrinth and give the big eyeball the 2nd fragment.
6. You should at this point be able to go back to Mud Tooth at ward 13 and have a new dialog option "tell me another story". The exact wording may be alittle different.
7. After exhaust all of his new stories from the new option, he should give you both the Gunslinger necklace AND the prerequisite engram for the Gunslinger archetype called the worn cylinder. (if you picked the Gunslinger as your starting archetype, then he just gives the necklace at this point. As you probably know, you get the option to choose the Gunslinger as your starting archetype if you pre-ordered)

There. Now that we are all on the same page, here's what actually happened to me:

1. Completes 1st world and gave 1st fragment to eyeball.
2. Went to Mud Tooth and exhausted all of his dialog including all available stories. He DID NOT give me the ring. Just told me to come back later.
3. Completed second world, and gave 2nd fragment to eyeball.
4. Went back to Mud Tooth and he did have the new dialog choice for his second round of stories. After which he still DID NOT give me ANYTHING.

I DID have the option to choose the Gunslinger has starting archetype, but I picked handler.

Please correct me if I've gotten anything wrong in the process to getting the archetype and accessories.
