I've made a bleed build revolving around Merciless and it is working as intended. If you want to apply bleed to a target you need to make a continuous fire because the bleed effect will apply only when the reticule of your weapon gets smaller ( I would say around 50% of your magazine if you hold the button down ).

If you want to add more chance to make enemies bleed you should add to the weapon the mutator Twisting Wounds that gives you additional damage to bleeding targets and max it to level 10. This way the mutator will also apply bleed on critical and weak spots hits ( + gives you 20% more damage at level 10 ). note : Mutator dropped by mini boss Grime Crawler.

If you want more efficiency pair Merciless with the ravager amulet for a 20 to 30% increase damage on bleeding targets.

If you want some extra tankiness on that build add the ring that heals you when you are below 10m from a bleeding enemy and max out the life steal trait.

This game is amazing !

Good luck :D

Just got Twisting Wounds from Gorge. Good thing it can drop from different boss mobs

Keep shooting with it. Duh. Enemies will seep red when it's in effect. It's an automatic. Not a semi automatic. It takes about 10 hits on auto fire. The best part is that it will keep your mod buff going as well. So you can have 2 and a half of the mod, get in some hits, dodge attacks, then have three snipe shots ready.
