Mouse clicks have stopped working in the UI

All of a sudden the left mouse click has stopped working in any UI, this includes being able to choose dialog options. Given the next stage in the game is to essentially hand in the quest after beating the boss in the forest area, im utterly stuck now.

Its weird, I have shoot to be left mouse button and in-game that works just fine. I've tried resetting the keybinds - not difference. It's not even exclusive to in-game either, I cant even click the Start Game button on the initial screen, only thing I can do is hover over it and press Space which seems to work for that.

There is a keybind option under UI for select, which by default is Space. But re-binding it the left mouse button doesnt solve the problem and then just renders using Space to select UI options useless too.

I've also verified the game files in Steam, so short of completely re-installing it. im at a loss how to fix this. Anyone else had this problem?

Just so you know you're not crazy, me too! It started yesterday for no reason EXACTLY as you describe. UI does not work, everything else is perfectly fine. But now I'm stuck because I can't click Start Game....

I've seen anecdotes that anti-virus can cause this, but no idea if that's useful info.

Yeah I got this aswell from hitting F11. Dropped into windowed mode & it switched the resolution to 1920x1080p. Just use keyboard shortcuts to switch your resolution back to original fullscreen,

I can confirm this is the fix for this, now that I recall I think I alt-tabbed out and it must have switched to Fullscreen mode. I've set it back to Windowed Fullscreen and its all sorted now. Weird.

same happened here and this fix worked thank you.

its the resolution. go windowed mode and then change it using your mouse to full screen and it should work. at least it did for me

Same problem happened to me too today. I read your fix to go windowed mode and then change to full screen - that worked. Thank you.

Hey sorry I’m having this issue in 2025 and this isn’t helping anymore. I can’t even click I have to interact with my space bar. Then if I select start game with space bar, I can move with wasd but I can’t look aim or shoot with my mouse

It happened to me if you are at Dwell crafting fragments and you clicked too quickly. Just exit the page and reenter fixes it for me.
