Stasis Beam is overpowered if you build it right...
The weapon mod does not change much with mod damage, but a specific ring (Time something) that increases status duration of status effects works on it, turning it from a 10 second 'stasis' into a 20 second one, which works on all elites and enemies in the game, except for 'world bosses' or when they introduce a elite as a special boss for the first time.
I paired it with the Widowmaker for insane weakspot damage, but you can use it with pretty much anything.

Except on bosses, don't forget that.

It actually slows world bosses while the beam is hitting them, but slightly.
It does not create stasis, just a instant slowness while the target is being hit.

Basically big bosses has extremely high resistances to the point where any debuff like Slow or Stasis hits them, it activates but lasts for a micro-second.

Other 'stasis' causing effect in your arsenal is undone if the target is damaged, but Stasis Beam actually keeps the target in stasis the whole time no matter how much damage is done, even if you kill the target during the period your beam is hitting it, his corpse will freeze midair.

You can absolutely use it in co-op to make every single elite and red elite encounter a cakewalk.

Slowing the bosses while shooting them with a bb gun's worth of damage during the mod is nigh pointless, given the instant you let off the beam drops the slow. It's great for solo runs, especially paired with the rings that regenerate mod points based off HP regen while using the ring that gives HP regen per mod use, but otherwise I don't run Stasis anymore. It turned half of the game into easy mode on Veteran tbh, as a solo.

Why bother with stasis beam if you can just use Firestorm and delete everything....

co-op can add an extra ability to the stasis beam, admittedly a glitch and maybe Xbox Series X specific. noticed two occasions now where if you're downed when actively using the beam and your team mate revives you the beam is now perma glitched on until you next travel between zones or use the checkpoint. you can even switch to small gun and the beam is still active, didn't try activating the mod of the small gun to see if that would knock the glitch off. pretty certain the first time we saw it was when my co-op partner playing a handler was revived by their own dog.

works on boss it's just slow them down enought for your damage dealer to deal alot of damage

The problem is the world bosses, they don't care if their models are slowed, if they are activating a room killing move, those entities and mobs will spawn after the script is triggered regardless if the animation state you put the boss in.

Besides you can't technically refill mod power while using the mod unless you are in 100% sync with your co-op partners to pass along the beam's effect one by one lol, 30 charges disappears in 3-4 seconds. You don't technically need to hold down the trigger on the beam charges though, each charge inflicts slow for maybe 1-2 seconds, so hit them once every second until the stasis kicks in as you prevent the slow from dissipating.

nah its good but not at all op, i used it for extended time and meanwhile it is good vs elites in the open world thats all, and i think it is buggy as hell too because some enemies still do trigger their animations under it and so they become invulnerable (resist, resist, resist) which i guess shouldn't occur but the heck do i know :P
