Edit: Also make sure you have upgraded your weapons as much as possible.
Edit: You can't really rely on the dog in this fight as he jumps into the pit to fight the oozes.
you are better of hugging a side(opposite of boss) of pipes and when the beam is about to hit you dodge in the direction it came from, thats if it came 1 of your sides, but it will shoot straight through the pipe for some weird reason but, since you just started if you have the flame or heal mod it will help, scatter wont unless you shoot it below into the other slime, useless towards the boss for the most part
and if you get too pissed from it, you could ask for a helping hand or re-roll your campaign
When Orb hides just w8 and dodge those lasers.
When Orb is out shoot it and keep moving around to avoid small orbs but shoot bigger orbs that come towards you so they dont explode on you.
THE REAL boss here in this fight is environment the area that you fight in.
So be careful that you dont fall down. That is what will most likely kill you most of the time since there are a lot of mobs down there that can spam aoe.
When you level up your class, it will raise your power level up to 10 for the 1st class ownership, but once you get a secondary class and level that up, the two highest class is added together for a power level of 20, it is balanced by your weapon levels and your upgrade, essentially not upgrading at all will scale the enemy to lv10 while your guns are lv0 if you max out two class levels.
You want to maximize your weapon level equal to your power level solely for matchmaking and damage output, if you only upgrade 1 long gun to lv20, and leave the melee weapon and handgun to lv1, you'd end up with basically a average of 7 weapon levels. Remember that weapon levels is the average level of all three weapon slots, not the highest you own.
I cri :(
Thanks for all the tips! It really helped. Phew!
nice, good job
1st, if you aren't confident on dodging the laser but can avoid the slimes, just dodge into the sewer below, carefully choose one of the spots you can easily navigate to a ladder from, and dodge down there to have the walls block the entire laser attack.
2nd, the orbs are a critical weak point once cracked, I rarely shot the actual boss, and used the time it was on screen once it hit phase 2 to just reload/heal/whatever and prepared to burst the orbs down. Hunter vision mode (first power) and/or berserk are great for this, as is the gunslingers quickdraw, once the orb cracks you only have a short while before it is absorbed again so I recommend saving a weapon mod like helix rockets or any other form of high-single shot damage to hit it before it is absorbed for massive critical damage (1-2k per hit kind of damage)
2.5, if you only have high rate of fire weapons, you may want to get a rifle, coach-gun, or other high damage per-shot (alpha) gun for this sort of thing, but the LMG can also work especially with fire bullets or other similar damage-upping mod and hunter sight.
3rd, if you have gunslinger you can use it as a primary to get a full reload on a gun like the LMG for sustainability in fights like this.
I saw that you did clear the boss, but hopefully this helps anyone else looking.
I appreciate the very thoughtful and helpful writeup anyway! This will also be great for other players to read if they're stuck too.
