On Blood Moon and Blood Moon Essence

Seeing as there's no properly detailed guide regarding this crappy event I decided to make my own, I've farmed all of the shop in adventure mode after only getting 2 wisps during the campaign.

Spawning a blood moon
- is completely random on entering a Yaesha exploration zone, I used "The Cursed Grove" since it's one the starting areas for Yaesha Adventure mode
- killing the doe or not makes no difference
- you do not need to reroll the world to spawn one, however it *felt* like rerolled adventures spawned a bm faster than trying to get a 2nd one in the same world.
- you do not need to warp to a different world/location
- you do not need to kill any bosses
- the fastest way of spawning it is to run through the map until you get to the gate to another dungeon/location and keep traveling from Grove to dungeon and back until it spawns. You can backpedal and press the Use key to use the transition back, you don't need to turn around. ( It *STILL* is soul-crushingly boring and long to spawn one, so hope you got two monitors for youtube or something )

Blood Moon Wisps
- spawn points are random
- can spawn between 0 and 6 at a time
- die in one hit ( 5 dmg was enough to kill on survivor, didn't try other diffs )

Using a crystal does not end the blood moon event but it also does not respawn the wisps.
The Blood Moon event ends after a certain time has passed.
You do not need to reroll the world to trigger another Blood Moon.
To reset the wisps enter a dungeon gate, then go back into the Grove.
Do not run through the whole Grove during Blood Moon, try to find one spawn place, kill whatever you find there, look around and if there's nothing else, reset the spawns.
As I mentioned before, the wisp spawns are random, if your Grove has, for example, three huts - A,B,C and a tree, on your first try there could be 0 spawns, on a reset, there could be 3 wisps on hut A and 1 near the tree, on a 2nd reset there could be wisps only on hut C, etc.

I would also suggest getting as much movement speed as you can, to reset faster.
I wasted one and a half day thinking no wisp spawns during blood moon ( i had 5 of these ) was a bug with my game, then after figuring it out i got enough essence to buy out the shop in two blood moon runs.

ive been able to force blood moon 2 times, when I killed the root boss (giant tree) and after doing the puzzle in the area where you align the floor symbols with the circles to open the door to the right when facing in from the entrance which has blood moon essence inside of it

Thank you for all the effort. The most helpful thing I've seen on the subject so far. Also I want to hardcore second your "crappy event" sentiment. This is such a f****** stupid mechanic.

Edit: Just spent about an hour doing OP's advice. In an hour, I got one blood moon to spawn and 0 wisps spawned. I think this experience has permanently soured my opinion of this game.

Just remember blood moon is not just for essences. There are secrets which can only be accessed during a blood moon.
