How does this game handle multiplayer during THAT moment of unlocking Alchemist?

I have a friend who I play this game with. I unlocked Alchemist while solo play and I really want to get them the class as well. My only concern is how the game will handle THAT part of the alchemist unlock with multiplayer. Will I just see my friend teleport across the map, will I get teleported with them, or will it not happen?

Your friend gets pulled away(it looks like he dies) and then if you die you both wake up together. If you use a crystal, he just respawns like normal. I almost missed the class because I was playing hardcore and we both really didn't want to die at the same time.

Okay so I let him get teleported away and then I jump off a cliff or something and then we both appear in the same place automatically? Awesome! Thanks!
