Final boss bugged?

Was fighting the final boss and consistently was able to reach the 2nd phase. On one run however, the boss just froze after the first phase and i got the achievement for killing it but nothing else happened. Restarting the game would despawn the boss but wouldnt update any objectives. Is my run now bricked just at the very end or what?

In the Nameless Nest area there is a 2nd door that is locked, not the boss area door

theres another door that is locked and it has a crystal light beside it. believe it or not when you get to the area where you have to jump the pillars theres a locked door below it.

I believe there is a side quest portal in the Nameless Nest area

Not sure I follow you here. I'm talking about Annihilation found in the Blackened Citadel at the very end of Root Earth but I managed to solve it by restoring a backup

no i had to ask someone who is already at the end of the game cause then you would of seen the door.

Thank you OP for reminding me to backup my save now that I am on final boss on Nightmare. I would be so mad if I don't get the rewards after beating it and had to do it all all over again.

This doesn't have anything to do with this discussion. How is this related to "the final boss", who happens to be in a completely different zone from side path?
