Try using an Orb of Undoing. Might not work, but also it might

Orb of undoing should reset them back to 0.
The cheats that are out there only artificially change the # of points but there are other counters that remaining unchanged thus result is negative.

There is a cheat table out you can use to give yourself the trait points back.
It'll take some time, but it's better than starting over probably.
If you don't know how to use cheat engine there are guides around. Also I don't know if this breaks some forum rules.

Much easier way of doing this is just getting wemod, they have a really good free trainer.

Don't join randoms, play with friends only. There's a reason the game defaults to friends only.. Which was a very smart thing.

oh no cheaters! where! tell me exactly where and if you have their friend code! so i can know to avoid them, i would hate to have all the items i still cant get after 200 hours just given to me on accident, how terrible that would be
