Yeah, I give up, Sha'Hala is the worst boss in gaming history
I had an insanely wrong rant on how bad the boss design is in another thread, but Sha'Hala takes the cake.

I'm playing on Veteran, but regardless, I have never encountered a worst boss in all gaming.

This boss is literally death by a thousand cuts, where each cut is an unavoidably feeling off-screen laser. Never-mind the on screen lasers, when like 6 hands all try to hit you at once with purple lasers and will oneshot you.

Has nobody tested these fights on veteran? The previous two bosses were bad too.

Remnant 1 is one of my favorite games ever, but it had it's problems. But not like this, with one flying offscreen hitting boss after another.

Sorry Gunfire, you've made a great formula with great movement, loot and game/gunplay, but your first game had bosses with way too many ads and now you compensated with bosses with still many adds, but this time constant offscreen attacks and mechanics that are not very good.

You have no talent at boss design.

Now to decide: reroll or give up and play Remnant 1...

PS: why is both skill use and aim down sight so unresponsive after dodge roll. Fix it! That need a few frames shaved of the timing!

There is a ring for that
This is my first world boss and it wasn't that hard. I think it only took me 2 tries in veteran. Though I do have regen ring and shield rings as well as the fart bomb to poison the hand when it comes up.

Trying to dodge the lasers would let you avoid the hand and the succ orb. It's the homing balls you have to shoot is what gets me most of the time since I don't use a weapon with lots of ammo so i end up reloading and get hit.
One of the worst f’ing bosses, Awful job introducing the bosses attacks. Most of the bosses are “throw everything at the player”
I find myself rushing to get through them. Gunfire Games makes bosses more annoying than enjoyable but this is just too far. The Tight Fov the crap AI for the Handler. Don’t waste my leisure time with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Shahala was great. Went in with a healing build. She couldn't kill me so I slowly whittled her down.
Thinking the same 2 days ago with this boss in another post :

I don't understand the fight with this boss, the difficulty spike that really comes out of nowhere.

Too many life with adds and the boss is far too fast for the character's movements, which are far too slow. Finally, the boss can destabilize you with a single hit and can easily kill you with 1 more + his adds, making it a one-shot affair.

A mistake with this boss is not allowed.

Excluding his life when you understand what you need to shoot, today I still think that this boss has a problem with some adds, it does indeed need to be balanced. Sometimes I understand absolutely nothing of what's happening on screen with all the effects, if you're not lucky, it can be quickly a pixel soup.

First time It looked likes a RNG combat for me, you're lucky or you're don't with him. But some of his attacks, likes its lightning attacks, can be "easily" dodged by standing against the fog door.

Just Throw down the shield mod...easy peasy
It's about timing, and endurance, yeah. But he only has so many attacks, and all of them are bang on predictable with months long telegraphs. It's just that all of his attacks consist of multiple attacks from different directions. You need a routine for each one, and to plan your damage/healing windows. Don't try to blitz him down like you can for most of the other fights, you actually have to do the dance with him.

I will agree this boss was our road block.

First thing we went with medic/handler combo. So dog is absolutely useless and medic heals are worthless. Only shield somewhat useful, well spring gl standing in 1 place more than 1 second. btw Nightmare mode.

Its absolutely worst if you roll N'erud as your first world, we are level 9 and weapon upgrades around +8, and not enough of trinkets variety and no ranged weaponry. Only melee ( nice rng )

This boss has many attacks that are not properly signalized and visualized to the player.

  • Purple lasers that pin point you and snatch 1/4 of your HP ( can dodge but there are other things to dodge and watch _
  • Giant hand from below, it literaly has 0.1 second of visual clue that appears on floor ( green fires ) but it usually will 1 shot you.
  • Horizontal purple lasers, hits once and goes back hitting again ( 2 hits, easy to dodge ), worst part he casts vertical purple lasers that stay in place for 5 seconds, and if you dodge horizontal laser you get targeted by vertical laser during mid-dodge.
  • These green flying orbs that explode into purple orbs, spams too many of them and move too fast.
  • Black hole arm, there is absolute no visual clue where its gonna land, only sound but you have to react quicker than support in LoL on bottom lane. It also one shots you and kill donwed players

Either add proper ground indicators where his attacks are about to land or simply remove these terribly designed minor AI bots flying and chipping your health away

Same stuff in that overseer robot boss on n'erud. If not for him spawning every 10 seconds 4 flying cores that laser snipe you it would be MUCH more comfortable boss fight.

Stop that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, same with Faerin/Faelin spawning auto-aiming flying core orbs.

Just stop.

Whoever designed this Sha'La boss absolutely hates the fun and players.

After playing a bit more on fresh day. I take back my words.
It is quite challenging but fun boss. Defo most memorable boss fight with blast music.

Just gotta digest it slowly & relax.

Played in coop and he was quite hefty with Elemental Resist prefix, best shooting openings are when he slaps his black hole hand. And you can easily regen some of mod power on the hands.

Space Crabs do well for free dmg, and sentinel cube boss weapon can easily block drone range attacks. But during that fight i was only level 9 and single archetype so, not much of options. Just me LMG and doggo.

Though i wish they toned down with 1 add +1 more add per player. It is quite annoying. I know they serve as a ammo replenish but pls. Astropath was annoying, altought you can counter these minion spawns with secret weapon from labirynth ( eletric one )

This game just loves the off screen BS. It's not challenging at all it's cheesy and corny. It's one thing to not be great at souls like genres, but I did really like RFTA a lot more than this one.

have you attempted to git gud?
of course not. that would be a last resort lol

Bro, how much is Gunfire paying you to suck their tiny pee pees?
you think that boss is pain ? wait until you try the end game boss i guess but in true they are all easy in solo ironicly but i wont lie i dit beat that boss with Sha'Hala i dit use a rifle that deals alot of weakspot DMG against that little flash ball and spaming the skill to littarly melt it

The last boss in Remnant 1 was total BS too to be fair. Up to this day can't beat him unless I have a very specific weapon mod combo that does enough damage to knock him out of that oneshot or whatever he had. Nothing else works, including higher DPS options.

In solo.

In coop the same, but we all need to equip that combo. First time it took us 2 days of swearing at the game to beat the boss.

Speaking of melting, when I reached this boss my damage was unexpectedly low and there was nothing I could do about it. Now I have the same build, and somehow am melting foes. Something is off with the scaling for sure.
I did not like that boss. One of the reasons as to why, which applies to several bosses in Remnant 2, is that it sucks in co-op.
Just switch to handler/summoner build. Once done, go back to your build.

why are you commenting? either you played on survivor or low tier vet
there's power scaling and difficulty scaling
outhealing anything isn't a thing anymore once you get into the game, just as it wasn't in the first game. you can build as tanky, with as much sustain as you want and s**t will insta-gib you or it will 50% you. the here mentioned boss: each tiny laser pebbel can nuke you, with pretty capped resis on higher power-scaling and difficulty.

a boss ain't good cause you like em
a boss ain't good cause you played it on pretty much the easiest setting

they pretty much build the core mechanics on From's formula, but forgot the balancing
most of the Remnant (especialy 2) bosses are just bad. they look'n sound pretty, but their whole design is straight outta bullet-hell-hell.
just play any From game and compare it to the f**king bullet-hell-light-show Remnant 2 throws at you. the Nightweaver? Spacegod? Godkingwhatthe**fkever?
it's laz0rs and tiny (homing) projectiles everywhere.
yes, you can beat all of em even on higher tier settings, but none of it is fun or good.

nevermind trying to play with a melee focus. it's great low tier, but god forebid you enter "endgame"...holy cow. same goes for pet-builds some try to sell as OP here. it's funny how people comment on balance when they haven't touched on the gameplay parts where it actualy matters. pets? insta nuked. their mod-damage upgraded summon-corpseplosion dps? laughable. full on bullwark, either so much reg and DR that you deal basicaly base damage? zoom lazer pebble from side and your HP is gone.
they realy didn't improve their horrible balancing when coming from Remnant 1, if anything i feel it's gotten worse. survivor and vet are kinda okay but thouch on the last 2 difficulties (and high power tier...which was probably the worst system they could've implemented as is) and it's just horrible gamedesign 101
