Not a fan of soulsgames - Remnant 2 any different?
Past experience with souls games like Dark Souls to Elden Ring have been rather bad, I pushed past the first boss in Elden Ring and that was about it then gave up.

I find the weapon timing, losing orbs etc to drive me nuts. Plus you have to dodge everything perfectly or get insta killed on bosses.

I understand it takes time to "get good" however I find that these type of games to cause a large amount of stress and I hate very difficult games.

Anyways, suggestions, or just forget about this game?

While it's very different in a way since you're shooting at enemies, I would forget about this game as it's still a difficult one to play.

Remnant 2 has different difficulty settings, so if you pick the easiest you should not have as many problems as in Souls Games.

You also dont lose anything if you die, so you dont have to fear about your experience vanish if you die again.

So give it a try and if it isnt your thing, refund it.

Well yes its a soulslike so will probably have a rough time of it. I don't like souls games myself but I do better with Remnant.

The one nice thing that puts it above the Souls games for me is that there is no penalty for dying. You don't lose anything so its far less frustrating. Also certain classes like the Medic or Handler are far more forgiving. Having a pet dog that can rez you when you die is very awesome.

I did play the first game recently, and was enjoying it. I got pass the first boss without too much issue.

The lowest difficulty setting makes playing through the game fairly trivial; you may die a handful of times on most encounters and there are a few bosses that still retain their "one shot" mechanic and those can be annoying but the overall experience isn't as crazy as Dark Souls or Elden Ring IMO.

Weird how some people can manage so well. For example I play older CRPGS like Wizardry considered the dark souls of the day in the past. I manage them fine, these new fangle games makes me rage.

I might give this the old two hour try :P

It's only soulslike in that there's dodge rolls and "bonfires" where if you rest your healing item is recharged and enemies respawn. For the rest they're very different. One is a melee game, this is a shooter. You also don't lose anything when you die.

Exactly it. Because you lose stuff you come back to the fight that killed you even weaker than the first time you lost. The other nice thing in Remnant is (so far at least) that there's been a save crystal right next to the door leading to every boss fight.

So its not like Souls where you die and have to redo an entire dungeon just to get back to the boss. I can't count the number of times I died trying to get my exp back on the ground because I tried to rush back in Souls.

In Remnant I die, dust myself off and jump right back in til I beat it.

Its Dark Souls with GUNS. Emphasis with GUNS. You're shooting skills is far more relevant since that's going to be your main damage.
