Stable hmm i think 50:50. I've tried both games in multiplayer and the problem is the same every multiplayer Anno always experience sudden lost short connection which is annoying and can happen anytime even if both of you have good connection. Anno 1404 has a beautiful atmosphere, a very good soundtrack and Anno 1404 has a simpler production chain so the game can end very quickly if you know how to play it, compared to Anno 1800 which has a huge production chain and new regions if you have all the DLCs, if you want a simpler and short term gameplay Anno 1404 is worth to try, Anno 1800 is great for long term gameplay as it has lots of DLCs.
This helps a lot.
