Game won't find savegames

Heya all,

I have an issue where my Anno 1404 history edition does not display my save games at all. It does save the game (auto save and manual saves), it even warns me that i will overwrite my saves when trying a save game name i already used before. But it will not load saved game. As in, nothing is displayed under "load game". Even when I save a game and try loading one right away, it will just show an empty page

Anyone else experienced this problem, or have a clue on how to fix it?

Thanks for reaching out, sorry to hear you can't load any saves at the moment.

Would you be able to let us know if you're trying to load multiplayer saves at all?

Hi - i have this exact same problem too - running windows 11, can save games ok, and can find them locally stored in '...documents\anno 1404\Savegames\' folder, but they don't appear when selecting 'load game' from Anno 1404 (either when playing Venice or standard History Edition). Tried, campaign game save, continuous game saves... neither appear in the load game list :(

I found out that whenever you "start without addon", your saved games will be available. When starting with the so-called addon (which Steam never explains what the heck is that) saved games are missing.

Have you given the above a try at all to see if this helps?

And have you tried launching the game as an admin to ensure it has read permissions[ubi.li]?

I've bought the game yesterday and after few hours and some backups, I can t see them today when I want to load.

I tries another game and when I went to save it, it says I will overwrite. That mean the backup is here but doesn't appears,

Any solutions ?

In addition to launching the game as admin, and in order to isolate the problem, I also invite you to let us know if the problem still happens when launching both Steam and Ubisoft Connect as admin.

Hi, I came across this discussion. I have taken all the steps above, unfortunately nothing helps. I see the savegames locally (C:/ drive), but in the load screen of Anno I don't see anything at all. I hope to hear from you what I can do.

It's a stretch but if you are playing without the add-on (original anno 1404) make sure you opened that version and not the venice one (the one with the add-on).

I have the same problem playing Anno 1404 (without addons) on Geforce Now from my steam library. Pretty sure it is related to this thread.

it's true. i had the same problem, but making sure the venice addon is NOT launching, I found my savegames again. so when the launcher pops up, make sure to choose NO addon

No. I tried everything above. Nothing works. Don't know how it is possible the game won't "see" the saved games. Any luck anyone?
