Anno 1404 - History Edition

Anno 1404 History Edition Crashes on start-up
I used to play this game when I was 10-12 years old, so I attach great personal value to it. When I saw that it was on sale I was chomping at the bit to buy, install and play it.

After all was said and done, I wanted to start my day off with a nice Anno game, but when I launched the game it suddenly crashed. No problem I thought, I'll just check the intergrity of the files. After I did that, it crashed again, so I reinstalled the game entirely. I just tried to launch and again, it crashed.

The internet says that I have to go to C/Users/AppData/Roaming/Ubisoft/Anno1404Addon/Config/Engine.ini however I cannot find the files I'm looking for.
Can anybody please help me with this?
Thank you in advance.

It kept crashing for me because i skipped the request to install Uplay (because i knew it was installed already in some way), but it needs to be allowed to update itself to Ubisoft Connect. In my case, that stopped the Crashing.

Guys to play Ubisoft games you have to download and install Ub connect from official site otherwise Steam is able to install any Ub related junk

That might have been it for me.

In any case, after multiple crashes, i closed the Ubi Launcher which auto-ran post-install, opened the program again (using the shortcut that had been placed on the desktop), and the program updated to the Ubisoft Connect version.

I have already bought it off Gog and it works fine for me now. I'm having bucket-loads of fun with it. Thanks for the reactions anyway!
