If it bothers you so much then take it up with Bandai Namco.
Have you heard of Nolan North or Troy Baker? If not, start crying now, and just go ahead and throw away about 80% of your video games. Sorry that it's a revelation to you, but the games industry tends to mostly reuse the same 8 or 10 voice actors over and over for almost every major release. At least the Dark Pictures series is using new actors, with some bigger names sprinkled in.
As has been said before, they probably use the character models to save money and save up development time. However, Dar (using the Litte Hope character model John), for example, is voiced by Nabeel El Khafif in House of Ashes and Alex Ivanovici in Little Hope. So they do change the voice actors too. I am not going to list everything but if you go on imdb you will see that not all character models have the same face as the actors and they do change voice actors depending on the character they are playing.
Are you actually slow, or just acting that way..?
I mentioned the games not necessarily being placed in the same universe and/or on the same timeline, as the issue is only really a problem if two identical people are walking around in the same setting, for no good reason, with no in-universe justification.
Also, only 3 (THREE) characters in the entire Anthology, up until this point, are modeled after their voice actors. The rest are based on real people, yes, but not on their voice actors. Which is why almost all reused models have different voice actors for each title they're present in. You might think I'm just making this up, but if it helps, I can name the three characters who look like their voice actors: Connor, Andrew, and Rachel.
Once, more, did you not even try to understand what I was saying, or are you slow? Because one of these means I should ignore you, and the other means I need to explain this for you in detail. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and explain it.
I never spread misinformation. I never made a statement that indicated, in any way, that the devs/publishers (who have the final say on the information pertaining to one of their games) have confirmed, or denied, what I suggested was a POSSIBLE explanation/justification. Learn the definition of a word before you use it to sound intellectually superior, otherwise you just come off as a kid with a massive ego.
What extra money and time spent are YOU talking about? You mean, you would prefer to pay 40% more, and wait 2 additional months, just to avoid seeing models reused from earlier games? They already DID spend time and money on modifying the models to an extent, you do realize this, right?
And, replacing FACES in a cinematic game with focus on living, expressive characters, is the hardest part. Swapping clothing, adding tattoos, etc., that can all be done comparatively affordably and easily.
But they'd need to hire a new model for the face, as all the character faces are based on the faces of actual, real-life people (though, to reiterate, usually not the voice actors, but rather independent mocap actors/models/stuntmen), they'd need to dedicate time and effort to the additional mocap for the new faces, they'd need to test the faces out EXTENSIVELY so that the character's expressions don't look "off" in-game, and they'd probably have to at least rework an existing character model for the new head/face to fit properly on it, but honestly they'd probably have to create a new body from the ground up, which would mean EVEN MORE MOCAP WORK!
If that wasn't enough, bear in mind that they DID create new models for every entry in the series. Rachel's character model in House of Ashes, for instance. So they probably would have created new models for all characters, IF IT WAS A FEASIBLE OPTION.
The video game industry generally does not involve making a better product than necessary if it does not mean additional profit. Sorry, but that's the world we live in now, and every one of us helped build it by spending excessive amounts of money on microtransactions, by pre-ordering games based on the articles of blatantly bribed "gaming journalists", by paying subscription fees, and by playing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Fortnite.
You want game devs to care more about their products? You want them to put in extra effort?
Make it the most financially sound option by putting your money where your mouth is.
It's the only language most developers (and 100% of major publishers) understand: MONEY.
