Don't get me wrong i get why you are asking, i felt the same with MSFS and just watching the AI pilot fly the aircraft, only it didn't work very well. to get back to TFA IRL you simply wouldn't really know what the enemy was sending till it arrived.
We had to make some choices unfortunately so as to be able to deliver a given package for TFA at the expense of some of our more advanced functions.
Ultimately we will offer players variable levels of realism which will allow you to see more - or less - of everything around you. It should be easier then to get to see what you want to see. For now, it is more or less, as said above, limited to what your guys can see at a given moment.
Thank you for your understanding & patience,
Cheers
