Task Force Admiral

Task Force Admiral

Anything close to "Carriers at war" or good old SSI(i think) "War in the South Pacific"?
My time to play games is limited and I really would like a revival of this good old great strategic games mentioned above.

I simply want to easy mange my CAG's but as well enjoy some proper and realistic(for the time) surface warfare, not many BB battles but lots of CA, CL, DD action(it seems this is not really even in this game yet even it was almost daily OPS for task forces involved)? Dont care about graphics, but an easy to access(so no Grigsby game unfortunately) but hard to master game that involves carriers.
I am afraid this one isnt it.

Plenty of videos in youtube to check how the game is. Shameless plug here but...

you can check out by yourself.

The demo is focused on carrier battles - that means surface combat, while is there, is anything but detailed. Developers have stated already that what's in there is just the ships firing and nothing like what the finished product will look like - the full version will have ship to ship combat exactly like what you're describing.

As for easy to access, hard to master, honestly, it is that way. Things are easy to set up, now, setting them properly to get good results needs a lot of thinking and a good knowledge of WW2 naval, carrier, and air operations to get good results - which is pretty much the point as even while I've played almost every strategy game there has been about the carrier battles of the pacific...

None comes close to match how detailed the modelling of the carrier operations are in this game.

as I said, just check out the game on youtube. And shameless plug again, I have several videos about TFA so feel free to check them out :D
Flat Top--Avalon Hill board game and Carriers at War--SSG computer games were big on my play list for a long time. I feel confident to say that this title--Task Force Admiral--will out do them both. It may be a diamond in the rough but--in my opinion--it is already a ruby in its current demo form. Diamond status incoming.
