Endgame question.

I've beat the game twice now. Once a regular play and the second a NG+. Both times I've missed the treasure and got the bad ending, and no sight of the Excalibur outside of the castle. What do?

It's on the outside region of the Sky Castle, still on the Sky Castle map. Bottom right side, right out the door.

Can you be a little more specific? after I beat the queen and the wall ruby thing and go outside theres no where for me to go but down on the dragon that takes me back to town, yet my castle exploration is 100%. I'm confused on how you mean. I'll keep trying.

If you open your map in the sky castle, there's a large square that leads into the sky castle tileset. The Excalibur is in that maze.

I'm on my first visit to the sky castle, do I have to beat the boss for the sword to appear? I've found some chests, but none of them had anything special in them.

Wait... I read you can miss out on Excalibur if you have a full inventory... those damn potions...

The item is in the dead center of the map. It'll feel like you're going in circles but it's there.

Good ending: warp back to town using the map after the castle starts to shake after beating the final boses.
Best ending: destroy the wall rune boss and gem thing after the queen using the Excalibur.

okay, so how do you even get to the sky castle?
this game annoys me.
the arbitray money goals annoyed me, the sex scenes were just , get it over with already.,

not sure why they drew the inn girl as if she was a fighter on the thumbnail, and gave her a sword.
still havent used the swap character buitton

i went to heaven and hell, fought that red boss, and got the blue stoner and red stone.

what was i supposed to do to find the castle?
there's literally 0 direcitons in this game.
and wasnt too happy grdniing 50k gold to buy an axe i nmever used again to advance was a thing.

nor the cileing climb skill found pre-water area.
game does a very poor job of funneling you into areas to get the skills anmd items you need for FUTURE leveles.

i have NO CLUE hwo to advance the ghost ship, bc i never got the climb ciling item- bvc io just went into the water with my bloated HP and tanked the damage throughout the entire area.

there's no reaosn to even grab that item in that area, so why wasnt it put AFTER that, or at least make it more apparant you needed to grab it like, 5 quests before you got to it/> @_@

None of this is really related to the OP (nor does it make a lot of sense imo), but go to the area on your map that is sparkling and that'll have the path to take you to the sky castle.

The castle rises to the sky after you complete both Heaven and Hell, assuming you've retrieved both the blue and red gems from those areas. On top of the green gem you got earlier in the game.

Red Gem: Defeat death in Hell and then go right. It's on a pedestal.

Blue Gem: In the looping hallway in heaven, you can destroy clouds with your attack. It's hiding in one of those

The same button that skips through text can also very quickly skip through the CGs, which you couldn't even do in the other games they released. Also the SFW Mode is an option if you wanted to remove the H-Content entirely.

On September 30th the publisher released a news section talking about the new content they added, that character is one of the new features. She doesn't seem to exist outside of being playable in NG+ though.

Also unlike Midnight Castle the "Swap Character" button seems only for NG+ mode (and that's assuming you bring the optional extra characters with you at all).

As the other complaints, I'm not sure I agree. I mean, I had more problems with Midnight Castle because of how that game handled progression after a certain point, but this game is not too different from something like SOTN or Super Metroid in terms of progression (though with far less backtracking I've noticed). I do agree that the game is far from perfect, but is still a big step up from how Midnight Castle did things. I would actually argue that's it more straightforward than that game in some ways.
