domination vs destruction
what do you think is better? domination or destruction? i think the domination is easier becouse the slaves help you with stuff but destruction is more fun.

Enslaving villagers lets them craft weapon and armor for your minions. They give more taxes, harvest gold from mines and create lifeforce in their village. Killing gives an early boost of gold and lifeforce. Also Domination and Destruction improve different spells while weakening the other:

Target Spell:
Domination: Easier domination
Destruction: More damage

Minon Spell:
Domination: More damage for Minion projectile
Destruction: More health for sacrificing a Minion

Halo Spell:
Domination: Stronger buff for Minions
Destruction: Stronger shockwave

It really depends on your playstyle.

Destruction is the true path to evil and personally I take the "evilist" path possible in games and this game is all about being evil >:)

Destruction is the pathe of lessor evil the kind of evil that knows its days are numbered, the kind that can't think ahead, becuase its life span is too short. Domination is where great evil lies, it tells the world you plan on staying and that all must obey.

Naa destruction all the way

Which demonstrates greater power to all those who stand against you? Simply killing off villages like a barbarian raider, or making them completely obiedient servants to your every whim, increasing your power base?

Domination is certainly worth it, just for the ability to easily farm life force in Everlight. Equip the Evil Eye helmet for double life force, and hang around one of the knick-knack stands for a few minutes to get quite the boost.

Domination is Lawful Evil, Destruction is Chaotic Evil, and a relative amount of balance would just be Neutral Evil. Most people tend to end up with Neutral Evil because of the sheer amount of patience you need to enslave or destroy all of the villagers.

While people think that the reward for Destruction lies in the items/gold/life force dropped by villagers, I don't think so. The real reward for Destruction lies in how it quickly buffs the hell out of your "Destruction" side spells. Evil Presence becomes a beast on a Destruction Run, to the point where you can almost rely on it if you buff it all the way up. Contrast, the only thing you gain for upgrading Evil Presence on a Domination Run is being able to dominate more people, and this doesn't work against enemies (which it SHOULD'VE) so it quickly loses its usefulness... contrast the Minion spell, where you get to turn minions into living bombs that don't die when used.

So each side has its own main damage spell, but IMO Destruction has it easier. Which makes sense.

I do miss the visual change that Overlord 1 had in response to its karma system. Still, I much prefer Overlord 2's karma system. I hope that they make an Overlord 3, and I hope that it has Domination/Destruction.

Agh, I certainly miss the visual change, too. Now, as for the karma systems, I would hope for Overlord 3 to in fact have 3 sides. Domination, destruction, and possibly redemption, (Similar to the "good" path in the original Overlord.) each with their own armor and weapon styles.

As long as they do the "Redemption" path humorously, I'm okay with it.

I personally thought it was done humorously in the original game's "good path", so I'm certain that it would be done the same way if done again.

I doubt Overlord 3 is in the making at all. I doubt it ever will and if it does it's not going to be the same people that made the first 2 (don't know if the wii one is part of the group)

I don't believe it's in the making now, since Triumph is busy with Age of Wonders 3. I do believe it will happen eventually, though, mainly because of the recent Indie Gala Codemasters bundle containing the entire Overlord franchise. (without the non-Triumph Nintendo exclusives) I'm fairly certain it brought quite a few new fans into the series, or at the least reminded the older ones that it existed. Also, not *confirmed* to be related to Overlord, but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OubDLPnlOpM

The character shown has armor that highly resembles the Armor of Fire from Raising Hell, with a few elements of the Arcanium armor thrown in. It's not a confirmation of anything at all, but is still nice for those who enjoy speculation.
