Bitdefender deleted save data and now I can't make a new profile

As the title says, Bitdefender deleted my save after it false flagged the trainer I was using. I found methods of restoring the save that work but I can't make a new profile now. I tried white listing the game directory, the save file location in my docs, and even fully disabling bitdefender. Nothing is working. I just keeps saying "It was not possible to access the profile file" and idk what that means. Game ran fine with the trainer all last night, then I tried to load it up and BD immediately flagged it, closed the game, "quarantined" the affected files (my save), then emptied the quarantine. I've tried verifying game files, which it says all are verified, I've tried full reinstall, no luck there. Literally the only thing I can think of is to completely delete the folder in My Games and hope it just makes a new one, then paste the old files back in there

Please don't waste time saying that BD isn't worth it or the game sucks. I'm aware of both and don't have the time or the energy to find a better antivirus that handles so much ♥♥♥♥ for me. I just want to be able to fully play the game.

One minor fix I've found is to literally just make an extra copy of the user data file in the Profiles folder. Now I have 2 "Overlord II" profiles but it seems like they're operating independently of each other so here's hoping it works fine

what trainer were you useing? they normally dont modifie game files at least not cheat engine

I was using the +14 trainer from gamepressure but I'm thinking of looking into other ones for now

that trainer does look interesting. unit limit 1000 and -traversing obstacles seems cool. i might even give this a shot. i oddly enough never used a trainer. i have had cheat engine for many many many years doe. the speedhack feature it has saves me 100s of hours of backtracking in video games or grinding time in singleplayer games. also its never been detected as a virus on malware bytes at least not the old download version i have still from 6 years ago
