Spiritual successors to Overlord

Hi guys,
Since it looks like Overlord is a dead franchise, I'd like to know if anyone has any suggestions for games that scratch a similar itch to the Overlord games. Obviously, no game is an outright replacement, and there are many qualities in Overlord that converge to make the final product, some of which are present in other games.

For my part, I found the tone and theme of Dungeons 3(haven't played any others) to fit very well. The gameplay is completely different, more RTS and base management than Overlord, and Kevin Brighting as the Narrator is just excellent, and plays the role of an obsequious teacher even better than Gnarl.

For gameplay, the Kingdom Under Fire games had elements that appeared similar to Overlord, just more fleshed out. Your player character could do more and your armies were bigger. It is a hard game though, and I haven't gotten very far.

I know that Pikmin is supposedly the template off which Overlord was designed, but I never played it. Is it any good?

age of wonders 3. it has the same tone and bad my the same company or something. honestly it is similir.
i saw this as someone who loves overlords tone and world. it may not see like it from the steam page store but it is similir toned

Weirdly the Shadows of Mordor games. They have precisely the kind of gameplay I was hoping for in a 3rd game but not puzzles unfortunately. You command a massive army of minions (orcs) to control territory and your little minion orcs can promote themselves and develop their own little stories based on how you interact with them.
It's obviously not a one-to-one translation but it scratches that itch for me.

yes Pikmin is fun if you liked to command minnions in overlord.

Mount and blade lets you control an army and you fight battles, raid farms, siege castles. It scratches that army control itch the minions left behind.
