Framerate capped at 30 when using a Xbox controller
I'm using a Xbox One controller via bluetooth and running on Windows 10. I was sad when I noticed that despite setting the option for 144hz, the game still ran in only 30 fps. My controller happened to die and as soon as it disconnected, my framerate jumped to over 100, making a massive difference. Is there any reason that this would be happening? I could play with a KB/M, but I played through the first with a controller and it seems much more comfortable.

I had the same problem. Probably a bug with the old API. I got around it by activating Xbox Controller Support in Steam's Big Picture mode controller settings. That seems to work for me. YMMV.

I was having the same issue and this worked perfectly. Thanks! It didn't do this on my old PC with an X360 controller, so it may just be newer gamepads that confuse the game.

This only happens when one uses Bluetooth [tested]. If one uses USB or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows there is no fps cap issue. Plus one can keep the Steam fps counter as no Big Picture gunk is involved..
