Co-op controls seem totally broken?
Two controllers connected, but both are recognized for player one. No option to assign the second controller to player two, and no manner of changing between Steam input on or off is helping. We had one play session where this happened and then it randomly started working correctly, but it isn't anymore. What can we do?

We're both using bluetooth Xbox controllers, third party but identified by the PC as Xbox.

first of all did you go into windows and make sure that both controllers are assigned as separate controllers?

secondly its been a hot minute but isn't that normal? don't both controllers count as p1 until you walk up to another character and press the button to start co-op?

For the first thing, of course. I play multiplayer with dozens of games on my PC constantly. For the second thing, it's definitely not "normal" but yes that is how the game acted, except for you cant press the button to start co-op because it thinks controller two is controller one. The way I was able to get around this was by relaunching the game and not touching anything on the second controller until I was at the prompt to start co-op.

So, it's definitely broken but there's a workaround, as the dev has posted elsewhere.
