only remoteplay together/local and it activates the second you unlock a second character which as far as I am aware(someone correct me if i'm wrong) only requires you to get to the first boss. so you get to them, die, and can then play co-op

ngl, looks like they saved themselves the effort... Can't remember the last time I refunded an indie game in less than 24 hours because I couldn't read... let alone any game...

The game is designed for local coop as indicated by the store page. It does not have online coop and has never stated it did. I've never had a good experience using remote play to try to make a local game play online. The latency for remote play has always been terrible in my experience. The devs aren't responsible for remote play's issues.
