Final Boss instantly killing me on defeat...
every single run I get instantly nuked when I defeat him, what am I missing?

You will defeat him on certain Destiny Level, keep it up.

Part of the story is the idea that every time you fight him, you take/absorb a small portion of his power. This power is then used to increase destiny level in game. I haven't gotten there myself, but I presume that at a certain point you have leeched enough power to be able to defeat him and reach the "ending"
