Building an Atlantic/Med campaign

I have been creating Custom Battles and converting the saves to Single Battles with clear objectives for some time. I would now like to have a go at building a campaign.

I'm running the beta game and I really like the new terrains I can use. I've been looking at all the available Mods to get a few pointers. The most obvious need is to be able to set up bases and airfields on the maps. I can "sort of" see how this is done by looking at the campaign files but I'm not totally sure. Are there any guides for building campaigns? I was able to use the excellent WotS Editor Guide to learn how to make scenarios but I just need some similar guidance for campaign creation.

I should make it clear that I am a rank amateur modder so I will not be trying to release a mod for general use. I just want to be able to do this for myself. I'm getting very old now and I desperately need to keep my grey cells active.

Any information would be appreciated.

The unofficial discord is a great place to have these conversations. You might also try looking at the seamissions.txt in the base game folders, and then maybe download the TTE mod, one of the hidden files in that mod is a map of all the map waypoints, combining those two things, you can start to get an idea of how the system works, and we'll be happy to clear things up from there.

I've signed up to the discord but in the meantime I downloaded TTE but couldn't get it to work with the Beta WotS. I couldn't find the hidden map of waypoints in TTE (I do have 'show hidden files' checked) but I did find a waypoints map in the East Indies Campaign v 2.01 Java map section so I'm using that as a reference. I've set up WotS vanilla on a second computer so I've added TTE and EICv2 on that computer and I'm having a close look at those mods in the hope they will lead me into the black arts of campaign modding. Thank you for your help.
