War on The Sea Development
I'd like to address some misconceptions about the current state of War on The Sea. It seems there's a misunderstanding that KFG is still actively developing the game. From my perspective, the game has been completed to the best of KFG's ability, and there are no plans for any further iterations.

Therefore, I kindly request that we maintain a civil tone when discussing this topic. It's important to understand that all good things eventually come to an end.

On a positive note, the modding community plays a significant role in keeping the content alive. So, I urge everyone to show their support for those who go the extra mile to contribute to the longevity of this excellent game.

Thank You

Development of War on the Sea is currently paused. If we are able to add further content or provide additional support to the modding community in future updates we will do so.

Well said. Could this be pinned so we can just point people to read it?

Sad to see KF cease development in a game, that is only 25% complete at best.

A game with great development potential.

There is nothing wrong with wanting more, but I've gotten good value from this game.

We didn't get a later campaign, but we did get a lot of ship / plane assets added which can be used in solo battles or by modders to go beyond OP Watchtower.

What War on the Sea could also have been
War on the Sea: Atlantic
War on the Sea: Mediterranean
War on the Sea: WW1
War on the Sea: Russo-Japanese War
War on the Sea: American Civil War
War on the Sea: Anything

The game is excellent. There could have been more things added but there aren't, and that is fine by me. I've had far, far more than my moneys worth from WOTS and I shall get even more value from the mods and my own scenarios I create in the editor. Very happy.

Well said! - I am nearly up to 900 hours of game play and there is plenty more to come. I have not yet played the Dutch East Indies mod yet and also there is another new mod coming set in the Indian Ocean. WoTS has been excellent value for money.

It's still disappointing for people who bought the game because of the roadmap, so it's totally understandable when they are unhappy with the situation.

The modders are doing their best to extend the lifespan of this game, but without the mods I would never have reached 730 hours of gameplay and that's something to keep in mind with the whole situation. Although the developers brought the game to life, it was the modders who made it flourish and worthwhile.

Exactly! so many people are complaining about it being a "dead game" and that is just objectively false. The modding community is constantly adding new things and anyone with any basic computer file knowledge can enjoy these mods

Modders can't fix everything, there's still many bugs and hard-coded limitations that they can't do anything about.

It would be awesome if the game became open source and community could modify source code.. ahh dreams :D

In what sense? Community is just the holy grail of this game, thanks to the devs and the customization of the game, but having acces to source code I guess means no limit on changuing everything :)
