GENERAL
Tactical map zooms in/out at mouse position when not locked onto a unit

Improved physics checks such that high velocity shells cannot bypass belt armor

HE shells no longer take into account ballistics/impact angle when calculating penetration, only use explosive force (mm penetrated = 0.2 calibre)

Kamikaze aircraft now attack from the height they were at when issued the attack order
- "attackHeight":[2,3] in aircraft data files now represents the minimum height for the attack
- zero_kamikaze_data and judy_kamikaze_data modified "attackHeight":[2,3] to ensure minimum 20-30m altitude for a kamikaze attack

Added a check to disable aircraft attack AI which could block time compression after kamikaze attacks

Fixed a bug where multiple merchants of the same class leaving the Rest & Repair queue on the same day as weekly Command Point acquisition would only return Command Point value for a single ship of that class

Carriers launching a strike force at start of an engagement now correctly calculate remaining aircraft

Cargo panel now uses language/english/dictionary/general.txt to lookup headers; Troops, Supplies, Engineering, Fuel

"Day:" header in campaign toolbar now uses language/english/dictionary/general.txt file
language/english/dictionary/general.txt added lowercase months of year for date/time display in other languages

We’re is the cargo panel? Is it a new section like weapons, radars etc?

It's technically a private beta, but the developers list the password at the top of this thread. You just need to enter the code "warontheseabeta" to opt in!

I have just installed the Beta version. I like the drop down box when you have ships/planes/locations close to together - much easier than having to scroll through menu on the right hand side of the screen. I am sure there will be other things that I will like too.

Hi KFG,

The new UI features are very nice, and much appreciated! The HE ammo penetration also seems to be fixed. Multiple tests, and I can no longer sink a Yamato with a Destroyer using all the deck guns.

My only complaint is, not sure where I am supposed to find the cargo panel info. Could you provide a visual of where this is located please?

When viewing a Task Force it is the "Manage Cargo" panel.
The little panel appears over the Task Force for that ship with Troops, Supplies, Engineering and Fuel carried by that ship.

The text for these headers is now taken from ShipDataCargoNames=Troops|Supplies|Engineering|Fuel in language/dictionary/general.txt

Verified that HE effectiveness against armored targets is greatly reduced in v108g7. Near the end of an encounter, Mogami CA was beached and under attack by my 2 CA, and 1 CL which only had HE shells left. I pounded the Mogami until I had no shells left, and while many above deck systems, including all of the turrets, were out of action on the Mogami the ship had only minor flooding. I had to finish off the ship with torpedoes delivered by a destroyer.

I have been using Tokyo Express mod (TTE), and now my game now hangs when I try to load a tactical encounter. Can I assume that's because of this new update? I did not actively download and install it, but I do see the new drop down boxes you mention, so maybe it has auto-updated somehow? If so, I may be getting stuck between a new update of the beta and a non-updated version of TTE; has a new, compatible TTE been released? Would appreciate any handholding, as I'm a noob...thanks.

If you opted into the beta at any time you remain opted in until you opt out.
So if you have updated to version 1.08g7, TTE will not be compatible until it is updated to work with this latest version.

Recommend opting out of the beta in order to maintain TTE compatibility.
