In your opinion, what are the best formations to achieve hits with Level Bombing?

I really like to use planes in a line here, or the Vic formation.

However, I get the highest hit probability when I give a separate attack command to each individual aircraft.

What are your tactics?

Box is supposed to be very successful, but I haven't tested it yet.

I mainly use Vic for dive bombers but for heavier bombers i sometimes send them each with their own orders or sometimes try box formation. And then if it's only 1 or 2 ships i will use medium bombers to skip bomb so i get more hits.

I use line abreast at as close to 90-degrees on target as possible so they all enter the AA field at the same time and all drop at the same time. With level bombers, as soon as they drop, I have them form up again and turn to get out of the AA field quickly rather than fly all the way through it. Dive bombers don't really have that option, so they just go straight through.

It depends on the angle you engage the enemy ships and their formation, altitude plays a key factor.
id say VIC gives you the most chence to hit but line ahead if you manage to nail it good you can totally wreck big ships.
But level bombing is only for b 17s so i dont suggest you use it with the Avenger or dauntless...
