Restocking planes on carrier?
Tried getting more planes for the USS Nassau, but pressing re-arm at the home base didn't work. So is there a different way?

Yeah.
Takes about 3 days to do it. Pain in the ass.

Why is the game set to take so long to restock planes on a carrier. I can understand the time to repair damaged ships but 4 days to put 12 planes on a carrier. Come'on that's just ridiculous. Not to mention all they have to do to restock is just land on the damned carrier and it's done. Even the planes themselves should just be able to fly out to the carrier if it's in range and become part of the carrier's air wing but I understand that hasn't been designed into the game but restocking planes should go along with the rearming all ships phase.
Is there a line item in the config.sys files to limit the time to restock planes?

You can disable this setting at campaign start under Settings. the duration of 4 days should represent the repair or replacement on board, other supply of fuel, etc. I find the settings realistic

I don't see how you can find that realistic. Normally all they would do is sail into their home port for fuel, food and ammo restocking but planes usually flew out to the carrier before or after it came into port and just land on the deck to bring it's wing compliment up to full strength.
Hell when Pear Harbor was attacked they had the Enterprise refueled and restocked in less than 12 hours and where out to sea.

Didn't realize that setting was there.
Thanks.

The Enterprise would actually have been among the casualties of the attack,. had it not been for the typhoon

Amazing how many things in history have been due to dumb luck.
Although none of our carriers where at Pearl Harbor at the time of the attack.
Go figure.

I havent done it since last patch, but undamaged carriers only take me a day when I did it. Seems like it was a resonable turnaround; however, if its slightly damaged it can take 3+ days.

I just said that

Pearl Harbor was also without the carriers strategically a failure - tactically a success.

No one can say what would have happened if Nagumo had stuck to Yamamoto's plan and launched a Third Wave, which would have taken care of heavy cruisers, shipyard and dock facilities, oil facilities and submarine base.

Against the third wave speak the most likely then to take place night landings at the carriers - and losses meanwhile, the even further increasing danger that someone on Ohau notices that the Japanese flee to the north.

To the carriers, as said, the Enterprise had been delayed by 24 hours because of a storm, I think she arrived in the evening or late afternoon of December 7, she was not far away, one of her SBD squadrons got into the attack in the morning.

If we could have ports in Tactical Mod sometime, I would love to see Pearl there.

I think my undamaged carrier was out for two days to replenish aircraft, but most recently my carrier was strafed by four enemy fighters. Integrity on four compartments was reduced by a total of five points after damage control. It was five days to repair on Elite difficulty. I will say that is better than the base ten days before the release/repair to replenish aircraft feature was added.
