In other words ,they are similar enough to be using the same model.
You know, back in Atlantic Fleet, British destroyer classes A,B,C and D uses the same class, E/F uses the same class, G/H, J/K/N, O/P.... they all use the same class, same model.
I see, but in the game, if you don't recognize exaclty the ship's class, your accuracy is less... Historically speaking, nothing to say: you're right, but in the game...
Here's how I comprehend it:
Sendai, Natori and Kuma are very similar, so as long as you identify a Sendai-class as any one of the three, you get the subtype bonus equal to identifying it as a Sendai.
