Open file "War on the Sea\WarOnTheSea_Data\StreamingAssets\default\config.txt" and change "showMovies":true" to "showMovies":false" and try again

Full path to config.txt is:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\War on the Sea\WarOnTheSea_Data\StreamingAssets\default\config.txt

tried this, i just get "war on the sea exe. has stopped working" whenever i try launch the game.

After the new patch 1.02 you have to run the fix again (showMovies ": false) because it has changed again. Killerfish wasn't paying attention.
